bookofjoe's Favorite Thing: Cup Noodles

At least a couple times a week (most recently about 40 minutes ago ) I feel like a spot of lunch and I look around and see a box of Kraft Mac & Cheese and all manner of high-end noodles from Singapore and David Chang's Momofuku and their ilk.

Then I think about how I'll have to get a pot and measure out water and open envelopes and packets and dump them into a bowl and stand at the stove stirring from time to time for  5-10 minutes before lunch is served.

And then I consider that I'll have to scrub the pot and bowl at some point.

All that's boring and a pain in the butt.

I default to the lowest common denominator in terms of fast and tasty food: Nissin Cup Noodles, now in super-streamlined packaging that no longer requires me to first remove a cardboard protective box and then supertight plastic wrap keeping everything pristine.

Sometime in the recent past Nissin bagged the styrofoam cup and associated protective layers in favor of a cardboard cup that requires no external wrap or protection.

This makes what was already great even greater.

Peel off the paper top, add water to the fill line, nuke it for 2 minutes 15 seconds, and Bob's your uncle.

Below, proof that I eat my own dog food/cup noodles.

Nice price: 12 for $4.44.

Where else you gonna get something this good for 37 cents?
