What happens if for some reason you need to make documents disappear fast and suddenly the power goes out and your reliable electric shredder becomes an inert object?
You're certainly not gonna start a bonfire in the middle of your office and toss papers in as fast as they'll burn.
For times like those, you'll want to have a trusty backup.
That's where this nice piece of kit comes in.
For $7.99 it'll reduces your documents to long thin paper strips that you can then crosscut into confetti.

I bought a pair of these years ago at a kitchen specialty shop where they were called Herb Shears. They have saved me hours of mincing ever since. Never even thought of them in relation to paper shredding.
ReplyDeleteNanci, that's interesting. I note in the Amazon listing I linked to that the second picture in the series shows them being used to shred dried seaweed, but otherwise there's no mention of use outside the document destruction space. Of note: Williams-Sonoma calls them "Herb Shears" — perhaps that's where you bought yours? https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/williams-sonoma-open-kitchen-herb-shears/?catalogId=79&sku=1311500&cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Cooks%27%20Tools%20%3E%20Herb%20Scissors%20%26%20Keepers&cm_ite=1311500_14571727833_pla-1418851099581&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=14571727833&gbraid=0AAAAADrs9cHPavvKKv5-AqHw1dPFu8klO&gclid=Cj0KCQiArt_JBhCTARIsADQZaynsnT4DK-ZPiwGqu5KR7xwo1HCprTsFk_Lq0jySlj5p3f8xGMkSTkAaAnTgEALw_wcB
