Here's one that's new to me: a specialized pistachio nut opener.

Tip (aka hack): The best tool to open a pistachio that you're struggling with is... another pistachio shell ! Just take one of the half shells you have sitting in front of you and use the edge to pry open the troublesome nut. Works great, except of course on those shells that have zero open spots. For those you need a nutcracker, hammer, or hydraulic press.
