Bayesian-Style Time Travel

'Devs' is a terrific 8-part Hulu series that premiered in 2020.

The most memorable scene for me was when the company's quantum computers reconstructed — albeit with fuzzy resolution — significant events in the distant past, that happened thousands of years ago.

This technology anticipated quite tellingly today's rapidly improving AI, which uses accumulated evidence (hopefully not hallucinated) to assemble predictions of events to come.

In the future, steadily improving machines will provide lifelike virtual 3D reconstructions incorporating people of ancient times, such that it will be impossible to say things didn't happen that way.

By repeatedly reiterating these simulations, eventually they will converge on "reality."
